Mastering My Circle: Your managerial superpower

Welcome to the My Circle guide! My Circle is a robust feature designed to help you, as a manager, gain deeper insights into your team. Whether you’re tracking updated profiles, reviewing set goals, validating skills, or preparing for one-on-one discussions, MyCircle puts all the essential information at your fingertips.



What is My Circle and how does it work?

MyCircle is located in the top menu of MuchSkills. Once you open it, you’ll find a detailed overview of your direct reports and their sub-reports (if applicable). Here’s what you can do with My Circle:

1. View team structure and sub-reports: View your direct reports and their teams in a clear, organised hierarchy. Simply click on a team member with sub-reports to explore detailed data about their team.

2. Track profile freshness: Monitor when your team members last updated their profiles. Employees with profiles that haven’t been updated in a long time are flagged as “dry” or “very dry,” prompting you to send 'nudges' or reminders.

3. Send reminders: Quickly send email nudges to team members to update their profiles, add certifications, or complete goals.

4. Review certifications and track expirations: Keep track of team certifications. See how many certifications are active, expired, or missing, and send reminders for updates.

5. Understand goals and progress: Goals are the future of your team. Monitor individual and team goals, celebrate milestones, and set new goals to foster personal and professional development and growth.

6. Access the change log: Get a detailed summary of all recent updates, including added skills and updated goals. This feature is invaluable for performance discussions and team evaluations.

7. Validate competencies: Confirm team members’ skills and assign validations. Add badges, validate skill levels, or input certificates directly to ensure accurate and reliable skill tracking.

8. Set and track unavailability: Mark team members' unavailability due to training, vacations, or other commitments, ensuring the rest of the organisation has clarity on skills availability leading to better planning for projects.

Using MyCircle for one-on-ones and performance talks

MyCircle is especially useful for performance discussions. Here’s how to maximise its potential:

Review individual profiles: Before you hold a one-on-one, access the team member’s profile to view their skills, goals, and recent updates if any.

Celebrate achievements: Use the cheer feature to celebrate progress. Send a high-five, heart, or even a party emoji to acknowledge that you have seen and acknowledge the milestones they have achieved.

Set goals together: Add or modify goals during the conversation to align with organisational priorities and individual aspirations.

Track and discuss growth: Use the change log to review skill updates, completed goals, or other milestones since your last meeting.

Set organisational goals: Assign specific goals to team members, ensuring alignment with the company’s priorities.
